:)
this is not very well edited.sorry.
Q2:How does your film opening represent particular social groups?
A:White middle class teenage girl- blackberry phone, nice house in a nice part of town, not a council estate that’s usually associated with lower class, through her clothes we also show her class and age. In the beginning of the film opening she has on leggings and an oversized top with wellies, she's not flashy with designer clothes like you would expect from someone of higher class but she's also not wearing a tracksuit for example that is usually associated with lower class. With her clothes she looks quite normal, creating a "normal" image for our lead goes against conventions of what a kidnapper should be.

Tribute to the greats.
Everyone knows his movies and unless you are insane, love them. He has been making movies for over 50 years now and is considered one of the best (the best in my eyes) filmmakers of all time.
Steven Spielberg.
He is known for his ability to blow stuff up but is also one of the best action movie directors around.
Michael Bay.
You talkin to me?
Martin Scorsese.
Last but most certainly not least, you can't pay tribute to the greats and not mention the gold mine that is Disney.

Music
For the music we have decided to go with a quiet, almost childlike piano for the background. We want to convey innocence but also raise the question of how a child fits into the story because she isn't seen until the last 10 seconds of the film opening.
Certificate
We have decide to make our film a 15 because our film is a physcological thriller and contains moderate physcological horror, violence and language. An 18 seems too high because it's not exactly the 'saw' movies and it is rare to find a thriller that is an 18, however a 12 seemed too young due to the language, Our movie is about a little girl being kidknapped and at some point you will be introduced to her mother, who will no doubt be swearing. A certificate rating of 15 seems appropriate for our movie.

Last bit of filming
Charlotte and I went to the park on Saturday afternoon, with Grace and our two new characters Olivia and Megan. We filmed our flashback sequence for the end of our film opening and it proved to be our hardest task so far, filming with a 2 year old. We managed to get the shots we needed but we definitely had to work for it, especially considering Megan's lack of interest in helping us and her determination to steal a little girl's scooter. Overall, a good day and so happy to be finished filming.

Blair Witch Project Research
According to the Forbes Magazine, The Blair Witch Project is considered to be the best-ever social media campaign and one of the first viral marketing efforts. The marketers behind this horror flick were able to generate big buzz for a movie with a small budget by using Web sites and message boards to stoke interest in the flick months before its release in the summer of 1999. Was the story of young documentary makers lost in the woods true or false? Fake newspaper clippings about the disappearance of the movie's main characters and police photos of their missing car were posted. Movie site Box Office Mojo reports that the film made more than $29 million during its first week of wide release. It has generated about $249 million to date worldwide.

Quentin Tarantino Research
So I've done a really quick prezzi on Tarantino and I am proud of the title I've made, more than anything.

Outtakes
So while I was waiting for my sister's parent's evening to be over, I decided to make this. It didn't take too long and I loved doing it, because it made me laugh sooooooooo much. It reminds me of how much fun we have had so far in the year.
More Editing
So more editing has ensued this afternoon of charlotte's footage of the train station day, I've tried to keep it consistent with smooth editing but I had to keep my eye on the duration of the video because we have to produce a 2 minute opening and now we are up to about 1.45 and we still have to add the flashback.

Casting a munchkin!
So my niece is now becoming a part of the film, I hope all things go well, when it comes to filming her!

Finally we know what we are doing!
So instead of scraping our original idea we have now decided to expand on it. The shots we have leading up to the shed door are great, and we couldn't be happier with them, so we have decided to shoot scenes before she gets in the house, we will have her at a train station - BIG challenge and also we will be filming her on a phone call, trying to add to the suspense of what is going on and raising questions for the audience, we will do this by leaving out what the person on the other end of the phone is saying.
Our opening will conclude with a flashback of two years ago, where we will see our leading lady watching a little girl (a toddler), maybe at a park or on the street. The only problem is filming in public places, especially if it is at a park, it won't go down well if we bring a camera into a playground that's full of children. I don't really want to go to prison.

Filming day #2
In desperate need of an idea, Charlotte and I went to Hilly Fields for some kind of inspiration, we filmed anything and everything. The only thing we got out of this day is seriously muddy shoes and an even deeper feeling of panic. However we have now learnt not to expect things (in this case, an idea) to find you, you have to find it. ALWAYS plan ahead, if I have learnt anything this year in Media, it is that. Your plan is crucial!

First idea
Our original idea of a teenage serial killer. We like some of our shots but towards the end, the message is lost and the camerawork isn't as good as we need it to be.

New directions
So Charlotte and I have decided we are going down a different route, we are ditching our original idea, of a teenage girl who's also a killer! The things that we have shot for this concept was ok, but nothing great, it did however improve our editing skills. We have a few ideas for a new opening but this time round we are going to plan things a lot better and not feel so pressured. So for the time being it's back to the drawing board.

The link between TV Drama's and Music
Some of my favourite Tv dramas use music during a key scene, whether that's a death scene, a first kiss or a winning goal. Does music heighten a scene to heavenly standards or should it just bare all and let the acting take the front seat? By music I mean, a song not a score. For example in Grey's Anatomy they are always putting songs in every episode and music has become as much part of the show as the medical stuff.
I included this scene because I like the combination of music and voice-over. A possible consideration for our opening.

New Year's Eve
Garry Marshall is more commonly known as the director of movies like The Runaway Bride, Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries and more recently for the all-star cast of Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve. Like other movies recently that are set in New York, Marshall presents NYE as a love letter to the city that never sleeps. A similar idea to Valentine's Day, where you see the lives of various characters go about their day and sometimes intertwine with one another, but of course this movie see's the preparations that everyone goes through to reign in the new year. Visually, a beautifully well done movie that makes you want to book a plane ticket right away to see some of these sights, this movie has it's comical-gold moments mainly thanks to Sofia Vergara but also it's heartwarming and heartwrenching moments mainly thanks to Robert DeNiro. This movie made me laugh and cry, it had me guessing and puzzled. But mainly this movie reminds you how important your loved ones are, whether it be a mother or father, friend or lover, well done to Garry Marshall!
