Positive messages: This show is a positive representation of strong older women. It looks at aging positively while also highlighting some of the problems that people inevitably face as we get older. Serious topics like AIDS and homosexuality are discussed and dealt with sensitively. Some issues -- such as gambling addiction, adultery, and theft -- are discussed in some episodes, but are presented as negative behaviors with negative consequences.
