Women in the Media

My hero- Milla Jovovich is one major action star and can be seen in films like the Resident Evil movies, The Fifth Element and Ultraviolet and contrary to popular belief she's not a 200 pound well muscled guy that everyone imagines when they think of an action star (Jason Statham).


However, even when we see beautiful women firing guns or wielding a sword they remain in skimpy clothes and perfect hair and make up.


Or in Selene's case (Underworld) tight black leather...


Have women progressed forward into the 21st Century when it comes to media, or are these subtle hints not so subtle?
